Awaken to the sounds of the forests, creeks and mountains of the Slocan Valley in the Kootenays. Your day begins with yoga and a delicious, nurturing breakfast. Then a morning circle- where as women, we explore and learn how to bring our mind, body, emotions and spirit into balance and alignment to support a deeper relationship with ourselves and with life around us. We will do this first by slowing down and entering into the energies of mindfulness- of carefully becoming aware of the present moment and cultivating equanimity, kindness, acceptance and compassion- through guided meditation, breathing exercises, art therapy, forest bathing, drumming, and group processes. During each circle we will explore how these 4 aspects of self- mind, body, emotions and spirit- relate to the 4 elements of the natural world- earth, water, air and fire- and how building a relationship with each element in our daily lives can enrich us.
Afternoons will be spent engaged with nature and could include: hot springs excursions, alpine hikes, lake kayaking and swimming, forest edibles tours, collecting medicinal herbs, making salves and tinctures or a trip to the local pictograph sites. All levels of physical fitness will be accommodated. Evening activities include campfires, music, stargazing and yoga. The retreat fee includes a one-hour massage, activity fees and accommodation at the beautiful Kootenay EcoRetreat Centre. Facilitated by Courtney Wren-Mabbutt MSW, RSW and Chris Berger (Family/Youth Worker). These two special women are highly respected and loved. They have played a key role in many peoples lives, helping to navigate the troubling times in a persons life and enabling them to chart a clearer course.
